# Correct company information

> Fix the workspace description and public social-profile context before editing downstream work.

Correct upstream company context when Alesta has misunderstood the business. A focused correction can improve later documents and recommendations more reliably than editing the same error in several outputs.

## Correct the description

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the correct workspace">
    Confirm the company name and domain at the top of the Company panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the description">
    Wait if the panel says **Baseline analysis is reading your site...**. If no
    description exists, select **Add a description**. Otherwise select the edit
    control beside the current text.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write a precise brief">
    Explain the inaccurate claim, provide the correct wording or facts, and
    state anything that must not change.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the action">
    If the control is locked, review the plan boundary. Otherwise submit the
    brief and watch for **Updating...**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the result">
    Confirm the updated description matches the business and does not add
    unsupported claims.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Good correction brief

> Replace the current enterprise-only description. We serve small ecommerce teams as well as enterprise retailers. Keep the focus on inventory forecasting, and remove the claim that implementation requires a data warehouse.

### Weak correction brief

> Make this better.

Specific briefs reduce the chance that the action changes the wrong part of the context.

## Use suggestion chips

Alesta can display dashed suggestion chips for missing profile fields. Select a chip to open a focused edit prompt. A suggestion is an invitation to provide context, not a fact Alesta has already confirmed.

## Add or update social links

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the platform">
    Detected accounts appear as links. Missing supported platforms appear as add
    controls.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the link editor">
    Use the edit control on an existing canonical account or select the platform
    add control.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the public profile URL">
    Use the company's real public profile, not a post URL, search result, or
    unrelated personal account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and test">
    After the update indicator appears, open the profile in a new tab and
    confirm it reaches the intended account.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Profile links do not authorize Social analytics. Use **Settings > Integrations** for account connections and permissions.

## If an upstream correction affects documents

Profile edits and competitor changes can make generated documents stale. Review Product information and Marketing strategy after the correction. If the document does not reconcile automatically, submit a focused document correction.
