# Documents

> Read, copy, and correct the generated working documents in an Alesta workspace.

Documents turn the workspace's company, site, and market context into readable working artifacts. They are generated interpretations of the evidence, so review them before sharing or acting on them.

## Document set

The free profiling run can produce:

* **Product information:** what the site says the company offers, who it appears to serve, and supporting public context;
* **Marketing strategy:** a working direction derived from the current company and market picture;
* **llms.txt:** a draft orientation file based on the public site structure and content.

Eligible deeper runs may add other documents, such as an opportunity stack, design guide, or content strategy. Availability depends on the current plan, workspace state, and deployed run. A paid plan alone is not a promise that every document will exist immediately.

## Document states

| State        | Meaning                                                     |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| Preparing... | The document is queued for a later stage |
| Writing...   | Generation is active                                        |
| Ready | The body is readable and copyable |
| Rewriting... | A correction you requested is running |
| Updating... | Alesta is reconciling the document after an upstream change |
| Locked | The current plan cannot read or generate the document |
| Unavailable | The run could not produce a usable body |
| Coming soon | The surface is visible but not built |

Alesta keeps a ready document readable while a correction or reconciliation is running. The updated content appears under a new content version when the action finishes.

## Open and arrange documents

Select a ready document in the Company panel. It opens as a tab beside the permanent Analytics tab.

You can:

* copy the full body with the copy control;
* open document links in a new browser tab;
* close the document pane;
* drag the document to the top or bottom half of the main content area;
* compare it with Analytics, another document, or a competitor in a two-pane vertical split.

## Request a correction

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the document">
    Select a ready document from the Company panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the correction control">
    Select the edit control beside the document title. A lock opens plan
    information instead.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write a bounded brief">
    State what is wrong, what should change, and what must remain. Refer to
    exact claims or sections when possible.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit and keep reading">
    The document shows **Rewriting...** while the model-backed action runs. Its
    current body stays available.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the new version">
    Confirm that the requested correction landed and that unrelated sections
    remain accurate.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Corrections can require an eligible plan and credits. Only one protected action can run against the same document at a time.

## Competitor-driven updates

Changing the accepted competitor set can make dependent documents stale. Alesta can show **Updating...** while it brings those documents into agreement with the new set. This update is distinct from a direct document correction.

<Tip>
  Correct the company profile and competitor set before spending time on
  downstream document edits.
</Tip>

## Articles

The **Articles** row is marked **Coming soon** in the current workspace. It does not open a standalone article generator or publishing library.
