# Social analytics

> Understand the Social monitoring area, its connection states, provider limits, and labeled preview data.

Social is an availability-aware monitoring area. It shows the social integrations currently offered to the workspace, the measurements a deployed service can report, and explicit reasons when a provider or measurement path is not available.

## What can appear

The server decides which connections and panels exist for the current workspace. Current panel definitions can include:

* **Connections:** which social accounts are connected and what each can answer;
* **LinkedIn page:** organization posts and page activity;
* **LinkedIn audience:** follower movement and available audience composition;
* **Reddit:** brand mentions, communities, and supported sentiment summaries.

Provider approval, commercial access, environment support, plan access, and account permissions can all limit what is actually runnable.

<Warning>
  Do not assume that a visible platform label means Alesta can connect or measure it for every workspace. Read the connection card and panel state shown in your current environment.
</Warning>

## Connection and panel states

| State         | Meaning                                                                         |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Not connected | No authorized account is available for the provider |
| Connecting | Authorization is being prepared or validated |
| Action needed | You must select or confirm a resource |
| Connected | The credential is ready, but an individual measurement can still be unavailable |
| Unsupported | The current plan, provider, or service cannot produce the panel |
| Degraded | Some measurement paths are available and others are limited |
| Unavailable | The service could not report the requested result |

If Alesta cannot read the Social plan service at all, the page says that Social measurement is not available in the current build. It does not invent disconnected states for every panel.

## Labeled preview data

The Social area can contain surfaces explicitly labeled **mock data**. These examples show how a future or newly connected reading will be arranged.

<Info>
  A value inside a `mock data` surface is illustrative. It is never a measurement of the selected workspace and must not be copied into a report.
</Info>

Alesta also lists measurements removed from the product and explains why they were removed or what replaced them. A removed metric should not be interpreted as a decline to zero.

## Monitoring, not publishing

The Social area is currently a monitoring surface. It does not provide a live workflow for automatic post generation, scheduling, or publishing. Chat can help draft text when the current workspace tools support the required context, but you remain responsible for review and external posting.

## Manage connections

Use the cards in Social for context-specific connection actions. Use **Settings > Integrations** for the full connection roster, including states, selected accounts, reconnect, change, and disconnect controls.

Retired providers can appear under **Removed from Alesta** in Settings only so you can revoke an old credential. They cannot be connected again.
