Alesta’s GEO tab separates observed AI visibility from site readiness for AI answers. Observation reports available mention evidence; readiness analyzes available site signals. One does not stand in for the other.

GEO and observed AI-mention evidence are not part of the live free domain
baseline. The tab can be locked or conditional, and plan access does not
guarantee that a provider will return usable evidence for a domain.
What the GEO panels mean
Observed AI visibility
This panel can show the number of mentions returned for the measured scope and available breakdowns by platform, language, or location. These are provider observations for the stated run, not a complete record of every answer produced by every AI system.
If the panel is absent, locked, unavailable, or not measured, do not report zero mentions.
AI answer mentions
When present, this panel represents the concrete answer records behind observed visibility. The panel can arrive separately from the aggregate view and can have its own availability state.
Treat an answer record as dated evidence. AI responses can vary by prompt, system, locale, personalization, retrieval, and time.
GEO analysis
This panel describes how ready the measured public site appears for AI answers based on the site signals Alesta received. The current view can include canonical URL presence, social tags, and the number of readable pages.
Readiness can exist even when AI mentions were not measured. In that state, the result is site analysis, not observed visibility.
Review GEO evidence step by step
- Read the panel state and availability message first.
- Confirm whether observed mentions were actually measured.
- Preserve the displayed date, provider scope, language, location, and platform.
- Open answer-level evidence when it is available instead of relying only on an aggregate count.
- Review readiness signals separately from observations.
- Verify significant findings against the current public page and the relevant AI surface.
- Re-measure after a meaningful change; do not describe a single run as continuous monitoring.
What GEO analysis does not prove
- Readiness does not guarantee citation, inclusion, ranking, or referral traffic.
- An observed mention does not prove that the answer was accurate or commercially useful.
- A canonical tag, social tag, or readable page is one technical signal, not a universal GEO score.
- Crawler access for one provider does not establish access or citation eligibility for every AI product.
- Missing or unavailable provider evidence is not proof of absence.
Google states that its existing technical and content requirements for Search also apply to its AI search features; it does not require a separate AI-specific file or special markup. Crawler identities and controls differ by provider, so evaluate them separately rather than treating all AI access as one switch.
